Aditya Narayan says people upset over IPL ending are directing their anger towards Indian Idol 12
One of the recent episodes of the popular reality singing shows Indian Idol 12 where their paid tribute to late singer Kishore Kumar was criticised by social media users. Several social media users expressed anger and displeasure for not doing justice to the singer's legacy in the tribute episode. Kishore Kumar's son Amit Kumar was a special guest on the said episode.
Singer Aditya Narayan who hosts the show has now opened up on the criticism the episode faced. He believes that people are directing their frustration on IPL (Indian Premier League) ending towards the reality singing show.
Talking to an entertainment portal, Narayan said that IPL came to an end mid-season a few weeks back and people are venting their anger towards the show. He said that the parents have taken over the remote and watching Indian Idol which has made the younger generation unhappy. He said that they do not know where to vent the anger.
Aditya further said that he himself is feeling avoid after IPL came to a halt amid the pandemic. He said that he too was deeply invested in the tournament and believes that people have been consuming TV content a little too fervently in the last year.
Meanwhile, Kishore Kumar's son Amit had also criticised the show and said he has not to like it. In an interview, he had said that he was told to praise the contestants to keep them motivated.
